Jan Gabauer

I was born in 1980 and I grew up in the northern part of Slovakia.

Since childhood, I have been interested in aircraft and, above all, in aviation history, just like my father.

I started building plastic planes when I was almost thirty, so quite late.

After finishing a few 1/24 kits, I took a five-year break from modelling. In 2016 I started again but this time 1/32 planes exclusively.

Even though I like all planes from all eras, I’m mainly interested in US WWII aviation.

I consider model building along with the reading of aviation books to be my biggest hobby.

I work as an analyst and consultant for contact centre operations in the telco business and I live with my family in a small town near Bratislava.
