Description
In this 317-page eBook, Gary Boxall takes the terrific Kōtare 1/32 scale Bf 109K-4 kit, and turns out not one, but three equally terrific builds—each one representing one of the markings options supplied in the kit.
Gary guides you through the building, painting, decalling and weathering stages of the first build, offering plenty of tips, tricks and insights along the way. The second and third builds focus more on the painting and finishing stages, but also address some alternative approaches to constructing the model.
We’ve also included some historical information courtesy of Mark Proulx, containing some terrific photos of period aircraft, genuine airframe artefacts, and some analysis of the Bf 109G-6 currently residing at the Australian War Memorial.

What Our Readers Say
“Perfect document, very informative! 3 build inside all more successful than each other I really appreciated the cockpit detailing work! Great pictures.”
– Raphael Jumentier, France
“I’m 3/4 the way through my build and wasn’t sure it was worth it at this stage , but for $20AUD why not. After a quick look I’m amazed of how much information it provides and the many tips I will use to complete my K4. It’s highly recommended and thanks to Gary for producing such a valuable product for what I reckon is a cheap price.”
– Garry Cummings, Australia
“Such an extensive wealth of information, and it would have been well worth the price if it had covered only just one variant, but for all three of them … superb”
– Chris Belyea, Australia
“What a terrific modeling guide. Gary’s builds are out of this world.”
– George Welch, USA

Knowing how Kōtare prioritise kits for an easy build, I didn’t expect to need a guide to get the best out of this model. I was wrong. This is much more than a guide, packed with useful modelling tips transferable to any subject, clearly explained with beautiful photography. Superb.
