What Our Readers Say

I saw a post today about Chuck Sawyer’s F-104 book. I’d never ordered from KLP.com, and asked a couple of questions from a link. I also didn’t know who Kevin was… He responded right away, answered all my questions (and a few quite off topic). I received the book right away – and it’s really comprehensive and easy to use PDF format. Thank you for a great experience Kevin – it’s very much appreciated

Having now had a chance for a quick perusal of your new title, a few observations:
• First, for anyone contemplating tackling the Italeri 104, Chuck’s description of the build is very comprehensive and nicely covered in both text and photos.
• Second, even if you are not a fan of the F-104, if you are interested in producing a natural metal finish with paints, Chuck has given a detailed account of his experiments with Alclad as well as clear coats and a few metallic washes which should prove really useful to you. Those of you who have followed his builds know that Chuck does a great job describing his methods, and the “tutorial” sections in this volume are excellent examples.
• Finally, as a bit of a Starfighter nut myself, I really like the the extensive walk around section as well as the complete coverage of available (and not so available) aftermarket accessories and decals for the F-104 in “our” scale.
Bravo, gentlemen, on an excellent publication!

…another amazing ebook that will be well thumbed as per all the previous purchases.

Another great collection of build correction/aftermarket additions to build a great aircraft! Oh and then Chuck shows you how to do a flawless black paint basecoat for your NMF…. How to work with HGW rivets and the tools he uses to build this show winner! I’ve said it before for the price of a magazine you can have a wealth of information at your finger tips!”
– Dan Gregory, USA

“This is by far the most extensive and detailed F-104 build I have ever seen and as I have several (T)F104’s of Italeri stashed away for future builds I know now what to check and correct. I was also amazed about the use of HGW rivets on a natural metal zipper…”
– Patrick Janssen

“I’ve had a good look at the book now and I have to say that I am impressed.  I know the CF104 very well having worked on it at 417 Sqn in Cold Lake in the last four years of its service.”
